Caring for Your Piece
Because Vida + Luz pieces are handmade, each piece is unique in itself in some way. Very slight variations do occur from piece to piece (especially when it comes to natural materials).
Please be aware that brass naturally tarnishes over time. Rolite Metal Polishing Cream (available here) works great to shine your piece.
NOTE: Both the wood and brass are in their natural state—as in not lacquered, stained or finished—so it is not recommended that mobiles/ wall hangings be hung outside for prolonged periods of time.
How do I go about hanging my mobile?
There are a few ways you could go about it, but we suggest going into your local hardware store to seek advice on the proper ceiling hook, as well as heavy duty twine, fishing line, chain or cable/ wire rope + crimping (all options we've seen used). Your local hardware store should be helpful in connecting you with what will be the safest and most secure.
We do offer a 6' wire rope + crimping hanging set. It can be purchased here.
Always hang high and out of reach of kiddos and pets!
All US orders ship via USPS unless otherwise listed.
Shipping rates are for regular USPS mail which includes tracking.
As a heads up, carriers are currently experiencing delays in scanning in their packages to update the tracking. We have seen some orders take up to a week to update with an estimated delivery date.
Signature required delivery can be requested for an additional fee.
In the event of a lost or missing package:
If you need our assistance with a lost/missing package, please follow these steps before contacting us:
1) Verify your address is correct on the order.
2) Double check with family, friends, roommates, neighbors, etc... to see if they received the package on your behalf.
3) Speak to your local USPS office regarding the lost package (International Customers please speak to your local customs office instead).
4) Speak directly to your local mail carrier regarding the package. They will often know where the package was left if it was in fact delivered.
Once you have this information, we will be more than happy to assess if there is something further we can do for you.
In addition, once the package has left our studio and tracking information confirms that it is in possession of the United States Postal Service other other mail carrier- Vida + Luz is no longer responsible for the item.
We offer complimentary gift wrap and drop shipping (gifts can be sent directly from you to a specified recipient). We can also include a personal message and card in the package. Use the notes form in the shopping cart to detail the message you'd like sent along with the package. (Don’t forget to sign your name!)
Please be sure that the address you entered is correct. If the address is incorrect, your order may be delayed or cancelled. If items need to be re-shipped, the customer will incur a second shipping charge.
Additionally, please note, Vida + Luz does not assume any responsibility for items once they leave our local post office. We work hard to ensure that items are carefully wrapped and packaged. If items arrive damaged, please contact us to make arrangement for repairs. We offer free or low cost repairs on all our items, but the purchaser must pay all shipping costs for repairs.
Refunds & Exchanges
We want you to love the items you purchase! If you don't or it's not what you were hoping for we will accepts returns for a credit in the store. Returns must be made within 2 weeks.
Materials & Repairs
Vida + Luz pieces are are made using natural driftwood and raw brass elements. The raw brass will oxidize and patina with time, and this is normal. If desired the brass may be polished. Do not expose your pieces to extreme heat/cold or prolonged wet conditions, treat them with care and store them properly.
We do offer repairs for the cost of shipping, needed materials, and time. We charge $60/hr for repairs, although most repairs only take about 15 minutes. The average cost of a repair is $20.
